Care guide
TAKING CARE OF YOUR WOOD
Whether it is a table, bench or shelf, all our products are protected and sealed with a pure natural wax finish. As usual with such natural wood based products, wear and tear of daily life will mean each will develop a unique patina and 'lived in' appeal.
Generally, a simple wipe over with a damp cloth or a solvent free spray and wipe is all you need to keep your wood top looking great. However, If you wish to avoid any excessive markings or staining we recommend taking a few sensible precautions whenever possible:
LIQUIDS
As soon as it happens, remove any spillage from staining liquids, such as red wine, olive oil and fruit juices with a damp cloth. Ideally use mats or coasters for added protection.
HOT POTS AND PANS
Avoid placing hot pots and pans directly on to your wood top, as they are likely to burn through the natural wax seal and potentially discolour the underlying treated board.
CUTTING AND CHOPPING
We advise not to use any sharp implement, such as a cutting or chopping knife, directly on the surface of your wood, as it can lead to excessive scratching and marks. Preferably use a chopping board at all times.
FOR ADDITIONAL PEACE OF MIND
Even though all our products are design to be tough and durable, over time, small dents, scratches and stains will realistically happen at some stage. As part of our service to customers, with every item purchased we enclose a small care pack, consisting of a tin of touch up in a matching shade and some pure natural wax seal. A gently sanding and treatment from your care pack should have your wood top looking as good as new.
