How sustainable is your furniture?

Very. All our timber is FSC certified and sourced from sustainably managed Scandinavian forests.

Do you use imported steel?

To keep our carbon footprint to a minimum, we only use premium grade UK manufactured steel for all our industrial legs.

Can you make to any size?

Yes we can. We have general custom sizes as standard to all our tables and benches, however if you would like an ibetween size or something extra large, we can design and make to fit your exact requirements. Simply contact us to discuss.

Do you use scaffold boards?

Whilst old scaffold board being repurposed can work well for many, at The Modern Rustic we only use slow grown (over 60 years), sustainable managed Scandinavian timber. This premium, dense, tightly grained wood is renowned for its exceptional stability, which greatly reduces the likelihood of splitting or twisting over time. We also plane the timber with a square edge on all four sides to give a more uniform and contemporary look, rather than the more 'wobbly' overtly rustic appearance from traditional scaffold boards.

How long will I have to wait for delivery?

For smaller items, you can expect delivery within 7-14 days. For large items, like our full size tables. it will be closer to 3 weeks for delivery. As all our items are handmade to order, time is needed to ensure our wood treatment and finishes have adequate time to fully cure for long term durability.

Will you notify me when my item is shipped?

Yes. Once your order is placed, we will send a confirmation email of your order direct to your inbox. We then keep you updated regularly throughout the process and will let you know immediately when your item has been dispatched from our workshop. You will also receive updates and tracking information from the courier company with an eta of when your item will arrive.

What happens if my furniture arrives damaged?

In the unlikely event of any item arriving damaged or missing a component, simply contact us immediately at hello@themodernrustic.co.uk (please include your order number). Simply outline the issue, along with any images you can send, in order for us to find a speedy resolution.

Can I return an item if I change my mind?

Yes, of course. If you change your mind or are not happy with your order, for any reason, you can make a return within 30 days. Simply follow the steps in the returns section of this website. Any return costs will be covered by the customer.

Do you provide a care pack?

As with all natural wood base products, it's inevitably due to busy family life, signs of wear and tear can happen. It's why, with all our table, benches and shelving we send a free complimentary care pack including a tin of 'touch up' matching the shade you've chosen and a bar of pure natural wax to help make your top as good as new.

Do you have promotions and sale offers throughout the year?

From the outset, our policy has always been to offer our customers value for money and fair prices at all times of the year. Instead of hiking prices only to bring them down to a lower 'sales' price, we prefer to always keep our prices keen, with no gimmicks or false promotions. Honest and good, is how we like to do business.

Bespoke service

If you can't see a particular size or style from our standard collections and would like a quote on an alternative item simply complete our bespoke request form and we will reply as soon as possible.
